Find out whether your QR image, destination link or phone is causing the problem. Follow these checks before replacing a printed code.
Does the camera show a link or a prompt?
If a link or action appears, the camera has read the code. An unavailable page, login screen or wrong menu is a destination problem. Open the same address directly in a signed-out browser. For a printed menu, restoring the original address or its public permissions can fix the problem without reprinting.

Try a black pattern on white, remove the center image and keep the three large corner markers clear. Compare the original download with the image in your poster or social post. Cropping, stretching or image compression during editing can make a readable original difficult to scan.

Keep four empty grid cells around every side of the QR pattern. Text and artwork belong outside that space. If the dots look blurred or crowded, try a larger print or a shorter destination URL. There is no universal minimum size: test the actual material, lighting and scanning distance.

Clean the lens, keep the whole QR in view and move the phone slightly farther away so it can focus. Avoid glare on glossy signs. Try another phone or its built-in QR scanner. Plain text, calendar and contact codes may behave differently from website links in different camera apps.

Compare the network name, password and security type with your router settings, including spaces and capital letters. Test on a phone that is not already connected. Changing the password requires a new QR. A guest network with a separate sign-in page may still require that extra step.

Download a fresh PNG or SVG and scan it before placing it in your layout. Then test the exported layout or one printed sample. A successful software check cannot account for glare, folds or camera focus. Include a readable address beside the code so people have another way to reach you.
