Create your QR code

  1. Enter the exact Wi-Fi network name, including capital letters and spaces.
  2. Choose the matching security type and enter the password. Select Hidden network only if your router hides its name.
  3. Download and scan with a phone that is not already connected to check the joining prompt.

Before you share

The password is encoded in the QR and can be read by anyone with the image. Use a guest network for customers and visitors. A camera's Wi-Fi support varies by device.

Wi-Fi code reads, but the phone will not connect?

Compare the network name, password and security type with your router settings, including spaces and capital letters. Test on a phone that is not already connected. Changing the password requires a new QR. A guest network with a separate sign-in page may still require that extra step.

Choose the right file

SVG keeps the code sharp when resized in a compatible design tool. PNG works well when exported at enough pixels for the final print. The PDF option creates an A4 or A6 print card. Keep the code square; stretching one side distorts the grid.

Three corners reveal the orientation

The three large corner patterns help a reader locate a regular QR code and recognize its orientation, even when it is rotated.

More text can mean more dots

More text can mean more dots

Data type, content length and error correction all affect the grid size; shorter content can produce a less dense code.
